The high percentage of Sangiovese together with some red berried vines make this wine our modern expression of that Chianti codified by Bettino Ricasoli in the mid-1800s in the historic specification.
The "Iron Baron" defined his creation as "sublime wine". Time continues to prove him right. Before refining in the bottle, it ages in barrique.
Chianti Riserva is marketed three years after the harvest and after being in barriques and having aged in the bottle.
